From The Antique Apothecary to Moonlight & Mortar

If you've followed me on Instagram, you might remember my little Etsy shop, The Antique Apothecary. It started with the idea of travelling across the country in my little 26' Fifth Wheel and wandering antique stores to find old treasures that I could turn into art. From there it grew to making jewelry, teas, candles, Apothecary kits, terrariums, really anything I just felt compelled to make! It brought me a lot of joy to share my creations with followers and friends, however as many Etsy sellers will tell you, that joy came at a price. Between all of the costs to post, sell, ship - I found it unsustainable to continue selling on that website while charging prices that I felt were fair. And that was where the dream died for a while. I stopped listing, stopped posting, lost followers and had to move on for a while. I didn't stop creating of course, I worked behind the scenes in my home. Decided to take time to learn more. Take risks. And enjoy creating without the "what can I sell this for" cloud looming over my head.

Moonlight & Mortar isn't just a new name or rebrand, it is the shift away from previous negative mindsets that I held. A shift away from the limitations I gave myself for growth and the fear of "not being good enough." It's the little apothecary café, bookstore, flower shop, pottery studio, antique store, and cozy gathering place I've carried around in my imagination for years, but was too afraid of the cost. Not just the financial cost, but the mental and emotional cost - the cost that I was too afraid to fully invest in The Antique Apothecary.

The Antique Apothecary brought me so much joy over the years and I was able to correspond with, and sell to so many beautiful people. I will always be grateful for that time and experience. It truly was the starting off point in my journey of becoming an embodied creator.
